QR Code
Recommended- Scan with the Steam Mobile app and approve

Username & Password
Classic login- Enter your Steam username and password in the panel
- Approve on your phone, or type the Steam Guard code
- Stored encrypted, then deleted once a login token is saved
What happens on your phone
The two methods walk different screens, so follow only the one you are using. In every screenshot the red box shows exactly what to tap.
Our servers are in Germany
When the Steam app asks which location is closest to you, always choose the German option. It won't match your own country, and that is perfectly normal: the login comes from our cloud server, not from your phone.

Approve on your phone, or type the code
Steam asks one of two things. If your phone shows an Approve request, tap it and the panel finishes on its own. If you get a code by email or in the Steam app instead, type it in the panel. Either way works.

Getting the code by email instead?
Then none of the phone screens above apply to you. Steam sends a 5-character code to your account's email address the moment you press Connect, from noreply@steampowered.com. Check the spam folder if it is not in the inbox, and type it in the panel. Codes are single-use: if you request a second one, only the newest works.
